| Minted in 1794 and 1795, the Flowing Hair dollar was the first dollar coin issued by the United States federal government. The coin was designed by Robert Scot, the Mint's first chief engraver. |
| The Draped Bust dollar was minted from 1795 to 1804. The type 1, small eagle reverse, from 1795 to 1798 and the type 2, heraldic eagle reverse, from 1798 to 1804. |

| After a period of 32 years when no dollar coins were minted, the Gobrecht dollar was introduced in 1836. It was minted from 1836 to 1839. |
| The Seated Liberty dollar, minted from 1840 to 1873, designed by Christian Gobrecht. "In God We Trust" was added to the reverse in 1866. |
